What am I reading?
Book #1: Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream By H.G. Bissinger:
The first book I read was Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger. It is about the 1988 Permian football team in Odessa, Texas. It follows the lives of many different people who all come together in football. One of the main people is Boobie miles who was supposed to be a big time recruit but got injured and now is basically meaningless. He is struggling to find his identity. So far, you can tell Odessa is very segregated but when they play football, they all become a family, joined together in one sport. They face many struggles as a team, both personal issues and competition issues.
I really enjoy this book because it is about my favorite subject, football. I can go on and on forever about football if I could. I've read the book twice, seen the television show, and I've also seen the movie. Like always, the movie is a bit different form the book. In the movie, they have the team go onto the finals and losing, while in reality and in the book, the team loses in the semi-finals. That also related to me because as a football player, I was on one of the two Harper Creek football teams that got knocked off in the semi-finals by Orchard Lake St. Mary's. That happened two years in a row.

Book #2&3: Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins -
Freshman year I read the Hunger Games. Now this was a few months before the movie even came out. To be honest, I don't even remember why I even started reading it in the first place. It wasn't even hyped up at the time. Anyway, I remember not being able to put the book down. I think I finished it in two or three days. After I finished it, I didn't really try to read the second book. About a year and half pass, the Hunger Games is all in the media once again - all because of the Catching Fire movie. Before the movie came out, I decided to read the book. The Hunger Games is a very popular series and I don't want to spoil this book or the third book for you through this website. I'll just say that these books are very creative dystopia books and you can't put these down once you pick these up. They compliment Hunger Games very well. I think these books both helped me with creative writing because they expanded my perception on a dystopia situation. They can heavily influence both you and I on fiction stories we may write in the future.

Book #4: The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown -
In 2009, the movie Angels & Demons came out to theaters. I had no idea what it was about, but it seemed deserving of my interest. I saw the movie and loved it, but I didn't really get it. Now, in 2014, I understand a lot about the concept and The Lost Symbol is about the same kind of topic: the illuminati and free-masonry. I can go on and on about the illuminati, as it is a subject that interests me greatly. I don't necessarily believe there is an illuminati or New World Order, but I believe something is going on in our government. This book delivers an entertaining insight on the free-mason aspect of our government and is completely fictional. It seems so realistic too. This book inspired me to almost do my Multi-genre project on the illuminati.
